In a note to beta testers Sunday, Microsoft announced the final version of their highly-anticipated free antivirus software "will be released to the public in the coming weeks." The new Microsoft Security Essentials, originally code-named
Morro, was announced last year when Microsoft decided to scrap Windows Live OneCare. After a call for public test users in June, Microsoft reached their goal of 75,000 testers in just one day.
Hopefully, this new security software will eliminate the need to renew my Norton subscription in a few months. However, the
Dokken/Chicken ad is convincing me otherwise.
